Blue Shadows is currently riding at Hansen Dam Horse Park, located in Lake View Terrace, California, Monday through Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.   A member begins as a remount where they first learn the basics about horse care and riding; then they are promoted to the rank of Trooper. Through gained skills and dedication, members may then be awarded promotions which are both an honor and come with increased responsibilities for both themselves and assisting their teammates.

In addition to working towards competitions, troops will also have game nights, go on trail rides, participate in parades, and attend many other activities away from the ranch.

Blue Shadows can best be described as a cavalry-based organization where kids learn how to ride a horse or increase their riding skills, and also learn leadership and discipline, while meeting kids with similar interests. We are a fantastic organization for kids who would like to learn how to ride horses, ride in a drill team, and have fun in the process.  As a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, Blue Shadows relies on support from donations, sponsorships, grants and fundraisers. It is an entirely volunteer-based organization.

Are you interested in joining Blue Shadows? We are a great organization for young people who love horses and have the desire to learn how to ride or how to improve their equestrian skills. Blue Shadows is not simply horseback riding lessons, but it is a team where riders will participate with others as a group and attend weekly practices with instruction by experienced horse people.  It is a great organization for those seeking an interesting alternative to lessons, since we incorporate fun activities in an environment where riders will gain unique skills and meet lifelong friends.

We are open to youngsters ages 8-16. Contact Us and call Colonel Johnstone, or you can e-mail us at BlueShadowsOnline@gmail.com for more information!

Rental fees average around $50 a week. Blue Shadows is also open to those who own their own horse.
